March TANF Activities Calender

March 15, 2021 @ 8:00 AM - March 31, 2021 @ 5:00 PM MDT

Every Mondays:

Hi-SET:

During this time clients are to receive one-on-one help with studying for the Hi-SET. The Hi-SET® exam is one of three tests U.S. states and territories use to measure high school equivalency skills.

Workin’ with Traditions:

Workin’ with Tradition was developed to fill a need within Northcentral Montana communities and the greater Montana region. Young Native American job seekers were encountering challenges in obtaining and keeping jobs due to cultural differences and misunderstanding of the “unspoken rules” of the workplace. These factors, along with a lack of transportation, posed major obstacles for the strong potential of the Native American workforce.

Driver’s License:

The basic (and only legitimate) purpose of the driver license is to certify that the owner of that license has proven that he/she can operate a motor vehicle on public roads in a safe and responsible manner.

Every Tuesdays:

Motherhood Is Sacred:

Native American Fatherhood & Families Association (NAFFA) crated and designed this program for fathers and mothers using a Native American approach. The goal of the program is to strengthen families through responsible parenting. NAFFA teaches parents to connect with their heritage as they become actively involved in the lives of their families.

Family Activities:

This class was created for parents/guardian’s time to reflect on what activities they have done as a family.  Parents/ Guardians can talk about what they have been doing as a family and time for other families to gain some ideas.

Positive Parenting:

The Positive Indian Parenting nurtures, protects, guides, and teaches. It is central to all other aspects of life and is the foundation of a healthy culture.

Every Wednesdays:

Life Skills:

Life Skills Support Groups combine the objectives of removing mental health barriers to employment with exercises that promote practical outcomes. Participants will learn coping strategies to deal with their emotional concerns, and gain knowledge about the culture of the work environment. Personal strengths will be identified in dealing with stress related issues. Participants can expect to become empowered to pursue educational/employment goals while improving in general life skills.

Support Group:

Support groups bring together people who are going through or have gone through similar experiences. For example, this common ground might be cancer, chronic medical conditions, addiction, bereavement, or caregiving. A support group provides an opportunity for people to share personal experiences and feelings, coping strategies, or firsthand information about diseases or treatments. March 2021
